Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born on the 18th of November, 1985, at Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix showed a flair for athletics early on discovering her talent for sprinting when she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. A mere 10 weeks after the initial trial she took the sport, she finished second for 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She then enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic gold at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record in the 200-meter race with a time of 22.18. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. She defended the title by beating her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at her first Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo regularly placing in the top three of her races.
