Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. As for her mother, Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix's talent for athletics was apparent from the time she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After her first audition, she placed in the top two at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships, for 200 meters in just 10 weeks. Felix graduated from high school and subsequently signed a pro-contract with Adidas. In 2004 she enrolled in the University of Southern California, which is where she studied elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics, at Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to win the 200 meter race. She defended this title and beat her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and was consistently in the top three of athletes in each of her events.
